For an ad to make a lasting impression, it needs to stand out from the crowd. So, at Roche, we use distinct visual elements as a key part of the design of our advertisements.

Advertisement Types

We separate our advertisements into three types: corporate ads, HR image ads and products ads. Each type is subject to its own set of design principles:

  • Corporate image ads feature an image, a single word headline and a sub-headline, followed by the logo. They areavailable in horizontal and vertical format.
  • HR image ads and recruitment ads must comply with the design specifications of the Roche Employer Brand.
  • Product advertisements belong to a special category since they must adhere to two sets of guidelines in order to reflect the design and message of the marketing campaign as well as the visual identity of the product brand. Because Roche - the company - is the liable party, the “sender information” must be placed consistently and correctly in the “Roche strip” every time.

In cases where we advertise Roche as a company, we want to ensure we project a consistent image and message world-wide:

Like the message, images that can be used with your Roche ad are pre-approved. We don’t tailor our Roche ads for each placement. Instead, we use every advertising opportunity to convey our core messages alongside one of six image ads that are available to you.

HR Image Ad

An HR image ad contains the same elements as a recruitment ad. The headline in this ad must convey a message about why Roche is a great place to work and reflect our employer value proposition. The body copy of the ad should contain information about Roche as an employer, while using a storytelling approach whenever possible.

The visual design and message content of our recruitment ads contain the following elements: job title, About Roche, contact information, picture with quote and logo (top right).

Together, these elements continue to support the identity of Roche as the employer of choice.

Product advertisements belong to a special category since they must adhere to two sets of guidelines in order to reflect the design and message of the marketing campaign, as well as the visual identity of the product brand.

In product ads, the Roche logo must always follow the guidelines established for product marketing design. This ensures consistency across our product portfolio and serves to strengthen the Roche brand.

1. Roche Strip

The “Roche strip”refers to the minimal required space (the ‘white strip’) that must surround the Roche logo.

2. Product Design Zone

The “product design zone” designates space for the look and feel and message. Product advertisements are designed in compliance with the respective product brand identity.
