At Roche, clothing for work is provided for certain positions, like production or work in the laboratory. Roche “work wear” is not only practical and safe, it identifies the wearer with our company while subtly but visibly communicating the Roche brand.
The Roche work wear portfolio includes a broad range of apparel such as jackets, overalls, laboratory coats, security guard uniforms, and firefighter uniforms. The garments are tailored to meet the requirements of the job and include the Roche logo.
In general, when selecting fabrics for use in the manufacturing of Roche work wear, please choose non-linting materials since Roche garments must be lint-free, especially in cleanroom environments where synthetic fabrics work best. Please note that all fabrics must be washable, easy to care for, function-compatible, and durable.
The colour of Roche work wear depends on the supplier and may vary by department. When making an order for work wear, bright colours are recommended because they look friendlier, are easier to care for, and come in better fabric qualities, although dark colours are allowed as well.
On jackets, shirts, and lab coats, the Roche logo is on the left chest (heart) side above the breast pocket. In certain cases, like on firefighter uniforms or clothing for security personnel, the logo is placed on the back of the garments. On overalls, the logo is centered on the bib pocket.
The logo is always placed on the heart side.
Make sure the logo is readily visible relative to the size of the garment. Garment logos can either be embroidered (jackets) or printed (jersey fabrics). The logo may also be embroidered on an identical piece of fabric and then sewn onto the garment.
The standard colour for the logo is Roche Blue. Lab coats are always white with a blue Roche logo. For other garments, please use the black logo when the fabric is brightly coloured, and the negative, white logo when the fabric is dark . As a basic rule, make sure the contrast between the logo colour and the colour of the garment is optimised.
The Roche logo is 40 mm high. If the logo is placed on the back, it is centred; its size depends on the function.
As a general rule, work wear should not display any further text. If additional designations or department names are required, place them either on the right breast pocket or on the back. Added designations must comply with the guidelines for internal Wordmarks and must not be in the immediate vicinity of the Roche Logo.
Roche firefighter uniforms must comply with EN (European fire classification) standards. Firefighter apparel is dark blue with luminous yellow stripes pursuant to the EN 469 standard. The negative white Roche Logo is located in the back and centred. Choose a generous logo size to make it readily visible.
The high-visibility warning vest worn by firefighters must comply with EN 471 and with Roche work wear principles.
There are no rules governing the work wear worn by hostesses, reception staff, and gate personnel. Uniform designs can be selected individually at each site. However, please make sure the garments are modern and contemporary, and made with solid, strong materials.
When to wear
When Roche employees participate in an event as a team representing Roche - whether it’s a sporting event, a group outing, a charity function, or the like - appropriate clothing labeled with the Roche logo should be worn. We have the reputation of being a leader in personalised healthcare, working in diagnostics and pharmaceuticals to improve lives. To support this reputation, branding rules on all team clothing must be followed.
Please select materials adapted to the season and the activity. T-shirts for team events and sponsoring purposes are preferably made of cotton; functional shirts made of 100% polyester microfibre are recommended for sports events.
Whenever possible, T-shirts and caps should be white, although colours closely matching theRoche Corporate Colours (Roche Blue, Roche Grey) or Roche Secondary Colours (Roche Red, Roche Yellow, Roche Purple, and Roche Green) are also allowed.
The Roche logo is placed at chest height on the left side (above the heart). Make sure the logo is readily visible relative to the size of the garment. Generally, shirts are printed and not embroidered.
On hats or caps, the logo can be centred at the front or back or on either side, depending on the construction and style of the cap.
The standard logo is Roche Blue, and the fabric colour is generally white. If you select other fabric colours, make sure the contrast is optimised. The black logo may also be used on bright fabrics; the negative white logo should be used on dark fabrics.
Positioned on the left chest side, the Roche Logo is 2.5 cm high. The size of the Roche logo on caps may vary. Keep it discreet.
